At Rise Above Adversity Project (RAAP), we believe that every young person possesses potential—regardless of their past or circumstances. Based in West Palm Beach, Florida, RAAP is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving some of the most at-risk and justice-involved youth throughout Palm Beach and St. Lucie Counties.
Through consistent mentorship, advocacy, support, and transformative opportunities, we work with young people who are facing significant barriers, including involvement in the juvenile justice system, family instability, trauma, and limited access to positive support systems. Our mission is to plant hope, inspire growth, build resilience, and empower young people to rise above adversity and create a different future for themselves.
What We Do
RAAP serves as a bridge to transformation for youth who face challenging life circumstances. The young people we work with are navigating the juvenile justice system, struggling with unstable environments, or at risk of being pulled into cycles of poverty and violence. We step in as mentors, advocates, and role models—offering them the tools, encouragement, and real-world support they need to break free from limiting circumstances.
Our programs focus on:
✅ Mentorship & Support – Building meaningful relationships that foster personal growth, accountability, and resilience.
✅ Diversion & Prevention – Offering alternatives to incarceration by providing structured guidance and intervention.
✅ Life Skills & Career Readiness – Equipping youth with essential skills to help them thrive in school, careers, and personal development.
✅ Post-Release Support – Ensuring continued success after detention through ongoing mentorship, education, and employment assistance.
Why It Matters
In too many cases, at-risk youth are written off before they have a chance to show the world what they are truly capable of. We believe that with the right support, encouragement, and opportunities, young people can rise above their circumstances and create a new story for their lives.
